Man slams Burger King, Zomato over mouldy bun breads: ‘Didn’t know about New Flavour'
Mould-infested burger from Burger King.

Yaman Dev Sharma, a journalist, ordered a “Veg Whopper” burger and fries from Burger King via Zomato. After munching on the fries, when Sharma opened the burger, he found that it was mould-infested.

In a post made on X, Sharma shared three photos of the burger, showing the mould-infested portion, and wrote in Hindi what translates to, “Ordered from Burger King via Zomato. After finishing the fries, opened the burger (Veg Whooper), and came to know they have launched a new flavour, where mould is coming free with the burger breads.”

Many X users reacted to the post. One said, “This is nasty ???????????? ugh so terrible!????” Another user commented, “Shame on you burger King for playing with the health of others.”

Zomato responded to Sharma’s post saying, “This is very shocking. We are sorry you had to go through this. We will investigate it. In the meantime, a member of our team will definitely call you. For this, please DM us your registered contact number.”

Sharma, who had already contacted Zomato’s customer care over this issue, wrote back to Zomato saying, “Your customer support closed the chat four times. They just said that we are sorry and this will not happen in future. They did not help further.”

Burger King also responded to Sharma’s post. The official X handle of the company commented, “Hi Yaman, we never intend to provide such an experience. Can you please DM us your Contact Number, Store Location, Order ID and Email ID so that we can get in touch with you. Rest assured we will investigate this thoroughly.”

Meanwhile, another customer wrote, “I also have same experience with Zomato. That’ why I uninstall their app and their service is pathetic. After all the inconvenience they offer me ₹10 coupon to settle the matter.”In a similar incident, former actor Zaira Wasim, who lives in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, had found mould on pie she had bought from a local bakery. Sharing a photo of the mould spore on the pie on her Instagram story, Wasim wrote, “People, check twice before consuming stuff from local bakeries.”
